Bangladesh Braces for Dengue Spike Amid Rainfall
Bangladesh is facing renewed dengue concerns as rains spark a rise in Aedes mosquito density. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 20 people have died and 2,586 have been hospitalised with dengue so far this year, with April seeing a notable spike. Experts warn that mosquito breeding indices are already higher than last year, raising fears of a severe surge by June if immediate control measures aren’t taken. Entomologists urge stronger government action, including establishing mosquito control units and eliminating breeding sites. Meanwhile, Dhaka’s city corporations have begun intensified mosquito control drives ahead of monsoon season. Read more >>

Rubella Virus Like Particles: The New Candidate of Choice for Diagnosing and Preventing Rubella
Rubella virus is notoriously difficult to culture and extremely challenging – and therefore costly – to propagate at scale. Replacing native rubella products on the market with recombinant VLPs may be the solution that researchers need.
Rubella IgM has become increasingly difficult to source natively at appropriate concentrations.
That's why LGC Clinical Diagnostics has developed a Rubella IgM recombinant that can be used as a replacement. Rubella IgM Recombinant (1200-0194, 1200-0195) offers Negative Rubella Plasma with Recombinant Rubella IgM at a concentration of -100ug/mL
